It’s friday night and i went to esplanade again, this time, it’s DXO, it’s a club at the ground floor but on top is a nice roof-less terrace with a nice acoustic band. We walk past the place yesterday and heard the live band singing one of the songs EIC used to sing, so i become very excited, haha. Wanted to peeked in only, but the person quite friendly, and showed us around the place. I was quite shocked when i went it, cos almost nobody inside, haha. Maybe because it’s thursday. Then she showed us to the terrace on top, it is completely different with the club down stairs.

It looks more like a cafe and place to chill out except that it’s selling liquor instead of coffee. There’s a 3-piece band playing guitars and conga drums, and singing all my favourite songs - love me, let it be. But it’s getting late already, so we decided to come on friday instead.

It’s friday and the germany-argentina match is in progress! Oh, how i wanted to watch it, but i also want to listen to the band. Dillemma! The open area outside dxo is full already, so we decided to went in, no choice. At first i thought i will miss the match no doubt, since it’s a club inside, not a pub. But as i went in, there is this super big projector screen showing the live telecast of the match! And nobody is dancing on the dance floor! Haha, everyone is watching soccer, girls and guys alike! Just that there is no sound from the TV, just disco music bombing my ears. The entry fee is $18 per person with 2 drinks, but friday is ladies nite, so genevie no need to pay, so good…. me and cyrus paid only. i decided to stay at the ground level watch soccer first, then join them on top later.

So after the first half, i joined them at the terrace on top. Luckily the live band is still there. And when the 2nd half starts, i ran down again, haha, going up and down. At the 59h minute, Argentina scored with a header! Oh no, i guess that’s the end of Germany, cos after the goal, Argentina is playing quite hard with the defence but still trying to score. Germany is like quite ‘Gan Cheong’ to score an equaliser, but to no avail. After ard 10 minutes, i decided to go up join them instead, fellowship mah, shouldnt just watch soccer.

The band comes in again. Enjoyed quite a while, with my heart still at the game. Luckily, there’s a TV showing the game at the lounge inside and i am having direct view from where i am sitting. And the occassional “Woah!! ha…! Oh…!” from the wide screen outside the thai restaurant below kept me updated on what’s going on….. then….. Germany Scored!!!!! Woah Ho! Yeah man! I am a supporter of the Germany Team. Yeah! Got a view of the goal from the TV in the lounge. Someone kicked the ball towards the goal, another heads it, and number 11 HEADS IT IN!!! Number 11 is Klose! Germany’s top scorer! Haha, equaliser! The match is gg to get hotter but i decided to stay. It’s extra time when we decided to leave, got a cab back home. Took a few pics again with my phone, btw, the view from DXO roof terrace is very good, and the sea breeze is keeping us cool, very nice environment.

I though Argentina would win, cos i feel they are better scorers (i don’t watch soccer normally, only World Cup), I don’t know, just guessing. Then i checked the score today, Germany won with the penalty!!!! Hooray!!! Hahaha, so sad for Argentina.
